The 32-year-old man who went missing over the weekend in Nassau County has been found and is safe.

Mohammad Salem of New Cassel was located after a neighbor saw him trying to enter his garage and called police, the New York Public Safety Department announced Monday afternoon, May 13. He has been taken back to his residence, the department said.

Salem had last been seen around 11 p.m. Sunday, May 12.

Nassau County Police are asking the public for help locating a missing vulnerable New Cassel man who was reported missing on Sunday, May 12.

Mohammad Salem, 32, was last seen around 11 p.m., Sunday, May 12, and may be in need of medical attention, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, Salem was last seen leaving a family members residence on Elderberry Road. 

He is described as a male Indian, 5-foot-1, 100 pounds, with black hair, black eyes, black mustache, wearing a black and red long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and black and white Nike sneakers, police said.

 He is non-verbal and deaf, his possible destination is unknown.
